I am

I am

A Poem by SydneyPseudonym

A poem I took off my Tumblr at:

I am the grass beneath his feet as he trudges along

I am the supporting soles of his shoes

I am the woman on the corner begging for a dime

As she regretfully sells her voice to the blues.

I am the woman that he turns to

When times are getting rough

I am the drink clutched in his hand

When he knows he’s had enough.

I am the distraction that he needs

When I’m supposed to be asleep

But does he know

What he is to me.
