I'm Bad at Poems

A poem about how I'm not so great at poems >.>

Did you know

That I'm bad at poems?

All that rhyming

For me, it's hard

I'm not good at timing

(For certain, I'm no bard)

Poems usually pose

Some pretty, perfect,

and practical

Alliterations

And sometimes

Allusions make me feel

Like I'm falling

Down a rabbit hole

Repetition, I don't get

Repetition is strange

Repetition makes my brain

Feel like it's going through a maze

Similes are like Hard Mode

On a video game

But metaphors...

They're Expert Mode!

Personification is odd

It's a breeze

Whispering in my ear

Telling me secrets

You know what the wind tells me?

The wind tells me

to stop writing poems

Also, because you asked to review once or twice, I absolutely loved your reference to Lewis Carroll, who is the author of Alice in Wonderland, and the mention of different techniques, and your perspective on them. Your emotions were spread through the poem, and they hit home!

YES! this is brilliant :) it makes a connection between the author and reader which otherwise wouldn't exist. I love the use of each literary technique :) Love this

XDD I'm so glad someone noticed the different literary elements! I was trying to portray that even though I know some bits and pieces about poetry, I'm still struggling with it.

I loved it! The topic was relatable, and I totally get that feeling. Like when I wake up feeling cute, but pass by a super drop dead gorgeous person, and just melt into a puddle. Then I crawl back home, and write stuff. Anyway, (sorry, I tend to ramble) your poem was highly enjoyable, and I really hope you don't quit!
