The First of Spring

The First of Spring

A Poem by Titus
"

The so-called first spring plants, and the race to come out first.

"

To ‘Winter Sweet’, ‘Christmas Cheer', do tell...,

Upon the first of spring, their breaking with,

Tradition, the first sighting will begin to live,

Within a means, so shyly snowdrops, - they’ll

Begin springs’ first new plight, - the daffodils,

Could ill afford the spring these sudden chills,

They lift their trumpets high, -- a little more

Before they make a sound, the first my friend,

Becomes to wanton fetch a grouped will send,

Out waves you’re not prepared for, ‘Hellebore’.

There is this magic in the air, it stirs one back,

To our first love methinks the spring did track.
