Eskimo Cold

Eskimo Cold

A Poem by C.T. Bailey

When

he lit

a warming

fire while floating

in his cold kayak,

the Eskimo quickly

sank in the freezing water.

Therefore, by his drowning he did

prove the wise old maxim, which says, “You

cannot have your kayak and heat it too.”
