Glad I Am Not Perfect

Glad I Am Not Perfect

A Poem by Terrence Chang

We all want to be perfect
A perfect life
A perfect dream
A perfect smile
Perfection in everything

But there is a price to pay
Perfect is never perfect

In truth I despise perfection
If things are perfect
That is the absolute end
There cannot be any more improvement

There are no visions beyond perfection
No secrets behind deeds
Since you made history
You will crave for mystery

I am glad that I am not perfect
But I am glad that I am improving
Becoming better each moment
Cause if I was perfect
Well !!! I would have met my end

Bravo, Terrence.
This is so insightful. Love the thought and the message. Perfection is indeed the end and those who know the art of improvement are the ones who move on in life.
Thank you for sharing :)

you're welcome
each day is a perfection of its own..Being alive..Being able to determine my own processes.
Yet, I agree to the mystery of it all. No need pretending that any one event or person holds
the clues to perfection. But I do know that perfection is never the end to resolve.

"all things return to dust
save beauties fashioned well.
The bust
outlives the citadel.

The gods, too , die, alas!
But deathless and more strong
than brass
remains the sovereign song."

What Gautier meant is that any fortress of physical beauty will never
outlive the one's made of bronze.

well done my friend..dana
