The Merchant

The Merchant

A Poem by T.S. Ulmus
"

some stupid poem

"

The Merchant

A plethora of platypus and emasculated mussels

Torpid tarantula by the pound and shrimp in little vessels

Rhinoceros? that's ridiculous, but I have tons of aged ants

Pallets full of porcupine and pots of angsty plants

The platypus might be poisonous and the mussels lack some vigor

Tarantulas may be sleepy and shrimp that could be bigger

Old ants and angry plants, spikey mammals, I have many

If you're hung up on the Rhinos, sorry -don't have any

This took me back to the years of "way back when", images of merchants on the path side, hocking their wares to weary travelers
