The Abyss

The Abyss

A Poem by Taylor

The mind is a dangerous place.

It’s dark, and the demons bear their teeth.

Pearly and white, their fangs drip with blood

Glowing yellow eyes fixated on me with malicious intent

They ascend from the depths

dragging me under,

Tentacles tighten around my throat.

They drown me.

Leave me gasping for air.

Trying to catch my breath,

water fills my lungs.

The world turns but I am frozen in time.

I sink.

Down.

         Down.

                   Down.

                            Down into nothingness.

The abyss.

Free style is the new norm. The end seems to be said since the first verse and yet, this poem drags you until you fall down into the abyss too.

Great piece! :)
