Dating

A Poem by TTBoy28

I read a book

Then ran the race

Now I’m going on vacation

Somewhere

Someplace

Can I kiss you before I go

Up high down low?

Round and around

I’m letting my feet touch the ground

And I’m still doing it…because

There is just nowhere I can sit

Am I the next Valentino?

Lord, please help me

How will I ever know?

Is there a spark

that’s waiting for me in the dark?

Is there a light

to match my height?

Or do the sneakers on my feet

make me repeat

this scene?

I am ready to run

again

to find the fun

of a lover and friend

So I ask you this first

Though it may sound rehearsed

Comfortable enough to use your bathroom

Did I move again way too soon?

I did wash both my hands

As if one was a lonely fan

Why should I ask

Instead go for the thrill of the kill

Master the task

Like a laminate floor

Wanting it to be good

Wanting to be real wood and more

Do I just sound confused

All messed up acting used

Going nowhere

With flair

Stepping cautiously up each stair

You are sensational

Just in case my shoes don’t give you

Your space and all
