My life is like the vast ocean.

On the surface it’s an endless blue green paradise,

But below it’s a dark and dangerous world.

Predators hiding in every crack and crevice,

          In every shadow and cave,

Behind every rock and under the rough and unforgiving sand.

The waves toss back and forth,

          Crashing against the shore.

People playing in it without so much as a second thought,

Unaware of the darkness in its depts.

Back and forth,

          Back and forth,

                   Back and forth,

                             Back and forth.

The waves will crash,

          The thunder with roll,

                   And the darkness will rise.

Shooting stars fell from the darkened sky,

          Whistling their mystifying melody.

The wind sang in reply.

Back and forth,

          Back and forth,

                   Back and forth,

                             Back and forth.

 The sun will darken,

The moon will no longer show its luminous light,

And the stars will fall from the sky.

                             For he is coming soon.

Back and forth,

          Back and forth,

                   Back and forth,

                             Back and forth.

There is an uneasy calm before the storm.

Waves of cobalt will rise up from the depts.

With fangs of foam they will pierce the wicked,

                             And the earth will tremble.

                                      For he is coming soon.

Back and forth,

          Back and forth,

                   Back and forth,

                             Back and forth.

The gentle breeze became a hurricane.

Storm clouds concealed the heavens.

          Lightning split the sky.

                   Thunder crashed with the waves,

                             The earth shook in reply.

Back and forth,

          Back and forth,

                   Back and forth,

                             Back and forth.

That is my life.

          Back and forth,

                   Back and forth,

                             Back and forth,

                                      Back and forth.

          An endless cycle.

Like a whirlpool that never ends.

                             Never stops spinning,

Never pausing to see the destruction it has caused.

The voices that stay silent out of fear.

Fear of the dark that threatens to destroy them all.

Back and forth,

          Back and forth,

                   Back and forth,

                             Back and forth.

It shook me to my very core.

A lion roars into the blackness,

And the darkness began to lift.

A single bolt of lightning split the sky in two.

Like a message from heaven, it lit up the purple velvet sky.

          Beckoning me to follow.
