Lazy Daisy

Lazy Daisy

A Poem by Tahsin.Z🍁
"

Some things are to be done timelessly and Just inserting oneself perfectly somewhere doesn't mean he deserve it.

"

Skinny sharp shiny head
 guiding along thin red threads
'pon a tightly stretched cloth by a hoop
repeating lazy daisy stitches,
Out on concluding an outline of a rose.
Later filled the petals with satin stitch in a loop
At times, at midway the threads enmesh,
Adroit minds disentangle wordlessly
Rest run scissors, cutting mess, boiling fury.
Each yard demands timeless focus
Upshot of rushing is a mishappen work
Silk and wool don't pass through the same needle
One's nitid that thinly fits all,
another purls which requires hook.
Aimlessly laying in a task,
by crook you could reap fame
Insider will remain
as a barren cave.

Sorry Tahsin xx
This is beautiful!
Packed with amazing metaphors for life. An activity so capturing indeed, embroidery has always been fun. But only a literature enthusiast can correlate it with life. Poetry gives us the means to create something that we believe in; whereas the other disciplines(like science) restrict this urge of the creative people.
Love to read your works.

You were so lucky to have crafting classes during school days!😀 I wish I had too😄
I love this detailed poem on embroidery. I am a boy but I love all kinds of craft and I often design and embroider dresses for my plastic models. I love your art. You are very talented.

We can embroider our lives together, but if we do it too fast and too recklessly, we are left with something that will become unstitched in a split second..and leave us a disarray of threads.
nice alliteration in this as well.

I was passing through here and found this piece of beautiful embroidery. Followed the trail and it brought me to you. Yes dear Tahsin, embroidery as life needs Art and skill. Everyone is not as talented. Your embroidery is NOT humble. It is way superior to what some people post here as their ‘Art’. I’m thrilled you found something to occupy you so beautifully at home. Stay safe and happy.

I’d like to start with your status line, “Just inserting oneself perfectly somewhere doesn't mean he deserve it.“
Nice wisdom there. Lots of people are just ‘inserting’ themselves in places they don’t really belong. They do it with ulterior motives. So it’s a discerning eye that can tell the fake from the real. There are umpteen examples of that everywhere (and even on this site but I won’t say them aloud for fear of getting beaten 😅)

Coming to the poem, I like the intricate metaphor you used to state some life truths. Impressive! The art of embroidery is delicate and time-consuming and finesse & patience is the key. Applies to life. We often make a mess of beautiful things in a rush. Yeah I agree silk and wool don’t pass through the same needle. One size doesn’t fit all. And we shouldn’t try either. And stop judging everyone by same yardstick.

And lastly the best, a crook can reap short-lasting fame by their crooked ways but without the art and the finesse, they’ barren, empty caves!

Well done you! Well said Tahsin. And beautiful embroidery! You’re one talented lady! 🤗
