Oh Cocoons!

Oh Cocoons!

A Poem by Tahsin.Z🍁
"

Alike and different and alike

"
One purpose in all way is enough to live
Espy the cocoons and the wee worms inside
Benevolent silk dresses are their rooted homes

Is the soil alive? If so then she's your good daughter
Utters not a word veiling all her noisy pain
One sinful sower could make many souls reap

Man walks by feet not mind
thus unwillingly leaves signs
At the last stroke of my pen,
we're unapologetically humans
Even spaces between the words
can be flawed in your eyes

Doormat and doorbell with divergent reasons
found at the same place outside the houses

Comestibles and cutlery are bought to eat.

I like this forum. Takes me back to mid 1600s, when it comes right to place at last. True for one sinful sower and we're unapologetically humans. Glad I chose this one.

Maybe every person is a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.... that is the idea that I had reading this. An enjoyable read about what it means to be human.

You're welcome :)
In these days we are all cocooned into a quieter world of introspection and contemplation and perhaps seeing we are all the same yet wonderfully unique.
I hear the silence as you ponder the life of the silkworm and the presence of Mother Nature beneath our feet and surrounding us no matter where you look.
Your words are calming, as I wake to almost morning and see that early as it is, stirrings in the garden make me feel like I've slept in. 😀

Well, dear Tahsin, I have been well cocooned for weeks now and my metamorphosis is still yet to occur! One thing this crisis has offered many of us is an opportunity for introspection and to get some real perspective about the lives we lead. For those lucky enough to be sheltered with family, it has become a time of high quality spending the days with those we cherish. Others, of course, (me included!) haven't been so lucky. One thing is for sure though, once this is over, we shall all be free as butterflies to do as we wish. Hopefully with more grounded outlooks and attitudes to life. I enjoyed your snippets of wisdom in this one! Show your colours soon! :))

This again is a wonderful work. My favourite lines in the poem,
"Is the soil alive? If so then she's your good daughter
Utters not a word veiling all her noisy pain"
Exactly the story line these days.

Interesting! I haven’t read a poem like this before. I especially love the part about the ground being your daughter, ever saying a word while being walked all over. Beautiful words here
