Promised

Promised

A Poem by Tahsin.Z🍁
"

Attaining cause we love

"
In promises we tear open sordid times,
Bringing moon on the hands regardless.
Still and all, sky lays on land beyond the hills

What treasure is found in fulfilling words?
As you ask, I hunt for swimming birds
And usher pink clouds through fuchsia sunnies

You could deny appearing at inky nights to meet
We exchanged vows quietly of staying by side;
grieving out painlessly when the lover bleeds

Those were decorum's fences that I crossed behind
They surround the stable path of futile meeds
Hence rain or shine, to you my entity is promised

If we're not bounded to fulfill promises, then why do we accomplish surreal tasks in the name of it? It may not but love bounds and compels us.

That's very good idea if we don't make promises then we will lost focus at our lives. I think special small promises like to met with friends or to help someone from your street can make huge difference . Our lives need some kind of anchors to keep us at right rims of our minds. To full fill empty space and time . I feel this poem can speak very deep to our commitments . To don't lost focus and keep sail on on waves of courage and adventure .

I've had a struggle with the concept of promises & reading your poem made me relive it. I believe we do not have the right to make promises becuz we do not have that much control over what happens in life. We are bound to disappoint, often due to circumstances beyond our control. But on the other hand, people thrive on promises . . . some cannot take a step forward without a promise . . . so do we promise, knowing we may not be able to fulfill? Your first line is powerful . . . it started off my roiling thoughtwaves on this topic . . . promises do open us up to sordid possibilities! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

As the sky lays on land, I picture in my mind as I read this, a rendezvous at the horizon, most likely at dusk, with unspoken gazes and only the gentle soundtrack of nature providing you with reassurance you haven't went deaf.
A blue/black sky with sequinned stars sewn in and emotions replacing words.

This poem has beautiful vibes Tahsin. Its enough to stay side by side silently and not proclaim love to the moon. Lofty words and dreams often fail where a quiet resolution works. Words are after all just words. You have some beautiful imagery interspersed in your words here and I just loved the places it took me to. I believe in a love that doesn't shout from rooftops, just breathes in silence in soft moonglow. Kudos!

It’s always my awesome pleasure reviewing your poetry Tahsin. Appreciated so very much.
somehow this reminds me of Romeo and Juliet...which I just watched the other night again...(the 1968 version)
"violent means lead to violent ends---love moderately...long love does so"
"the exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine"---
promises so often get broken...and actions speak much louder anyway---as they say.
