Honey-seeming Cyanide

Honey-seeming Cyanide

A Poem by Tahsin.Z🍁

Past as a cascade I left behind
Through which my memories glide
Peace remains among the people I own
World seeming honey is but cyanide

Gadget questions my humanity
Omitting the alive fingers that turns it on
Mega words' war under viral feeds
Wins none, they rot in forlorn offline

Almighty on us if isn't keeping an eye
Hence without a fear you freely lie
Likewise am unbound to pray;
Pack myself for the ultramundane night

Masters too had erasers to rewrite
With the intent of prevailing over faults
Let's walk few days exchanging our shoes
And reach to the other side of the fence

It’s easy to pick faults in another without knowing a thing about what they go through. This is especially true in online conflicts where one is totally unknown to their opponent. As you beautifully state here, even masters had the chance to rewrite their mistakes. Everyone and everything in the universe deserves a chance. I love it! Your message is as unique as is your awesome array of images and words here Tahsin. I’m always amazed at your inner light.

The penultimate line nails it Tahsin, walking a mile in anothers shoes before judging is something we should all be doing more of. Yes, even me 😀
Putting down all those shiny gadgets and looking up once in a while will help. I have even noticed people smiling and passing the time of day with strangers. Maybe it's that with all the strangeness in our world right now, they see them as less strange and just other versions of ourselves trying to get through life with as little friction as possible.
Good can come from this. Could and should and must.
I just jumped the fence and the grass is exactly the same shade of green 😀

Your title is an atom bomb of intense creativity. This line makes me think & I'm still not sure how to take it: "Peace remains among the people I own" (what does "people I own" mean? this is where I'm hung up). V2 reminds me of how I felt when spell-check became so invasive. I'm a perfectionist, having done flawless technical writing without spellchecking for 30+ years & I resented this machine suggesting things I did not intend to write. Such a great way to summon our specific tussles with e-bullshit. V3 reminds me of those people who pray for absolutely EVERYTHING on their social media page, but I bet they don't really give a rat's a*s about most of it. It's become a social ritual, there's so damn much to pray for & so little human cognizance left to deal with all the tragedy. The last verse just sums it up perfectly . . . if only we could erase what we've done that brought us to THIS . . . and if only people would willing walk in other people's shoes (which they rarely do). This is very powerful insightful writing that provokes alot in a reader (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Love the irony in the bot thing, which I never noticed!
Erasers, white-out, using alive hands with which to pen a letter, a real letter....
I remember and miss those days well...what are we now? Extensions of iphones, computer keyboards,
still life not in real life.
This poem got me going...I am from the old days of rotary dialed phones...manual typewriters, and writing English essays longhand....and people actually talking to each other face to face.
you reminded me.
