Entwined in youA Poem by Talliesin
Golden strokes in subtle shadows,
Calm Santana gives tangy edge, Distractions jar if you let them, Younger blood makes louder murmurs, Happy murmurs despite your back-brushed minds, Smiling is the key to being alive, And in touch with your tingling, Ghost memories of a hot cup of tea, Irritating when you reach and tap air, My fingers' shock is throat’s irritation, And thoughts are wandering like fingertips, Stroking a worn black keyboard, I am in love and feeling alive is rock perquisite, Else all that exists is shadow, the hint of the idea of love, I sent love to Wales by tracks, And earth and smiles and greed, It’s absence is like a hole in my ribs, A chunk removed and gone, Numbed to pain by being asleep, inside I have closed eyes, I’d rather feel pain and weep, For she deserves my tears, Salt and water, life on cheek, A tribute to real love, Of something so entwined in me, It rips when it’s let go, And that can be agony, if you let it, I hope I will for that is tribute to love, I’ll re-knit myself in a week, But please let me have the self, To count the hours till I am warm, And loved again. © 2010 TalliesinReviews
