I know I know

I know I know

A Poem by tanaya
"

Just a poem I wrote

"

I know I know

I know you don't like me

I know that I'm not the nicest person

I know that i can be a bit cruel

but you guys are supposed to be my friends

or are you?

do you really like me or am i just a nuisance?

I am sorry for everything

I hope these words will put me in a better light,

not the dark room i am in

I know I'm not perfect,

heck I'm far from it but please just understand me and hang on for a bit

my life is in a bit of a mess right now and i need to sort it out

please be there for me in my bad times

you probably don't even know what is going on in this time of my life

but i listen to you i try to understand

i know i probably fail at it but i try

but i need to know that your there for me

because I'm most likely to fall of this bridge I'm on and i don't think it will be on the right side

catch me please or teach me how to swim

either will do just your support please

that's all i need to get out of this dark whole i am in

i need that light

i need that hope

because its not my dreams crashing around me

but my nightmares coming to life

so i know I'm not the nicest

i know I'm not perfect

but i need your help

so I'm going to end this with just a sorry

sorry

There is never a need to appologize when asking for a helping hand from friends. Everyone has moments in time when they hit a rough spot and could use other voices about to help calm and sooth their shaken nerves. I felt your piece poured out just such a moment. I hope this hard time is in the past, for I believe life should always be more positive than negative.

Few people are always nice. We will say we are sorry many times in a long life. I like the story and the ending. Thank you for the excellent poem.

So honest poem, you are looking for that light, and that this person can look you as you are... can bare with you... and can be with you. It is so important to be there in the bad times..not just in the good ones. Nobody is perfect, and love and understanding go beyond this!
Very deep and appealing writing!

I am always disturbed when a person pokes fun at herself, or apologizes for herself. As another reviewer noted, true friends will stick by you, despite your self-admitted flaws. But if you feel that you are "not the nicest", then make a conscious effort to be nicer. If you believe you can be "a bit cruel" (an oxymoron if ever I heard one!), then make up your mind to be less so. It's not really that hard; just hold your comment back a moment, while you ask yourself 'Would I appreciate that if SHE said it to ME?' In other words, the Golden Rule. As to being perfect, only one Person ever was, and it wasn't you...OR me! So get off your own case, believe in your own worth, and trust your friends. Believe me, they're just as insecure as you are!

I like the sincerity of this piece. It's a bit self-depricating, but I've also read three of your other works to get a read on your style and that seems to be pretty prevalent. Real friends would do all of these things for you already anyhow, but how well does anyone know their friends until hard times arrive? Mostly people keep the most from those closest to them, that's the nature of the human beast. But when it comes to privation, friends get each other through. Your candor in trying to compensate for certain elements of your personality is totally understandable, and for that this is very genuine. Good job.

This was great! I liked the wording you chose and I thought the flow of the piece was great as well.
Good job!
