Memories

A Poem by Tashida
"

Just something I came up with! Enjoy :)

"
Memories:

Some haunt me... Oh the pain they bring!

The very thought is enough to unleash a wave of emotions

large enough to completely engulf me.

You surround me like fire

You're sweeping ember blazes dare to destroy me.

No... I can't take it... You're too strong!

Memories:

Some warm me... Oh the happiness they bring!

You burn bright in my mind...

I shut my eyes and am immediately immersed in every sensation.

You comfort me in the darkest times

Your ember blazes burn bright around me

They warm me... protect me...

Memories:

Whether you comfort me or threaten to destroy me

You're mine...

And I wouldn't change a single one.

Why?

Because you're mine.

Love the metaphor.
The embers are the heart and soul of a fire. dID YOU KNOW - they can be carried with us (like the bushmen of Australia did so that fire would quickly be available for warmth and light).
We carry the memories in the same way.
Lovely piece Tashida.
