Unrequited Love

Unrequited Love

A Poem by Taughtskii

I'm not supposed to love you.
I'm not supposed to care.
I'm not supposed to live my life wishing you were there.
I'm not supposed to wonder where you are or what you do.
I'm sorry I can't help it 'cause, I'm in love with you.

You smile warmly at me, and it makes my heart skip a beat.
We make conversation, and I can't help but smile/
You brighten up my day, when I'm sad and lonely.
You make me feel so much joy, even when my day has been miserable.

It hurts my heart to see you smile at some other girl so warmly.
It shatters me to pieces to see you so in love with someone else.
I try my best to smile and act like it doesn't bother me, but deep inside, my heart slowly breaks at the sight.
I want to share my love with you.

I told you my true feelings, and you shut me down.
I was devastated.
You reject me with no emotion at all.

I only wanted your permission to love you, but you made my heart shatter into pieces. And because of that, it can never be fixed again.

You made me crumble into tiny pieces of nothing that are still deeply in love with you, and for that, I cannot forgive you.
