Audacious

Audacious

A Poem by Taxidermy 101

Elsa's SpinsterLollypop Inspired

"
Can't say--what'd we say--we ask the question but only write the answer.
There's a system
Here's a system
Bury the schematics let the rain take the blame
Circular-they said-and oblong.  Haven't heard such news since, we just spin.
Caught a glimpse but wrote a page, eyes slipping to the side
A furtive gesture while the dog whines.
There isn't a punctuation mark to mark the end
but a perpetual ellipsis skipping stone and the space is sinking.
Always falling/following through.
The panicked cluck as she swallows her tongue while spelling her own name into that bulbous magnifier
(is the thing that sits)
Today is the perfect day to--
--Miss a golden opportunity!
All those--barb wire flowers--
already painted.
A sleepy doorway, an audacious chair.
We move with perfect resignation
towards rust.
