The Curse of Havren Horn

The Curse of Havren Horn

A Poem by Taylor Jackson
"

A mystical cursed horn with the power to destroy armies!

"

There is a legend of a curse that haunts the Havren Horn

That warns the hearer of the call that their death would come by morn.

So amass your heart and bravery, would you dare oppose the call?

And fight against the advancing army, and pray yours would not fall.

So here’s the story of the horns first fight, a marvel story true

And within this tale a tragedy fell upon the opposing army’s crew.

For thirty days and thirty nights a war had battled through

And both sides suffered deepened cuts, and struggled now with few.

But among one side a boy with pride, a horn he’d carved of bone

And with a one breathe a call of death with a presence of its own.

When the horn call shed its sound across the active battlefield

The opposing army led a charge, and refused a trucing yield.

But unbeknownst to their charge a curse was charging too,

And within one thought the earth had dropped, and death would not be rebuked.

A curse a taken to the horn, in desperation built

For a demon to the horn’d been born, and began the boy to wilt.

One knows not of the original of the demon dwelling within,

But to this day and to army dismay, it’s been any enemy to men.
