English assignment. 'Create an animal that represents you and write a poem based on that animal.' I was a HORSE WITH THE FIN OF A SHARK.

With the lock of a mermaid, quite lengthy indeed;

This creature unfolds in the pride of its greed.

A stable intended for more than one beast;

Transformed into a regale where only one feasts.

Devouring any and all that it sees;

I can't help but warn you, please go hide those beans.

A wit with a laugh that is nothing but vile;

Though to construct a sentence, it might take a while.

As the old saying goes, like this I think;

Bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Try as you may, but I dare you not quit;

This unyielding creature keeps its judgements fixed.

I hope you remember before you reflect;

Arguing with such just might get you vexed.

Most of my focus was on the rhyme scheme.
I am aware that my sentence structure needs improvement.
