Rain

Rain

A Poem by Kelly B
"

Walked home from work in the rain, drawing strange looks for carrying rather than wearing my raincoat

"

Close my eyes

Face to heaven

Needing to be made new

Feeling each drop

Trace its path against my skin

Washing away doubts and troubles

Leaving me refreshed

Warmed by a new fire within

What a shot, but oh so powerful poem!!! This is exactly what I love to do whenever there is a rain, but I never thought of it like this. This part is my favorite, but I also love how you end it as well. The second line here would have to be my most favorite part.

Feeling each drop
Trace its path against my skin
Washing away doubts and troubles
Leaving me refreshed

I really like how you wrote the last line. You're obviously wet from the rain, but you say 'Warmed by a new fire within' like you have a new lease on life and you're ready to take on anything!!! This poem is amazing!!!

Good description of that... I used to walk in the rain in Oregon (not hard to wait for it to be raining lol) and feel that glowing inside from it. Something about walking in the rain without shelter or a raincoat is so comforting.
