MAKE HIS DAY

MAKE HIS DAY

A Poem by Terry Collett
"

A MAN AND A GREY HAIRED DAME IN A COFFEE SHOP.

"

Who's to say
that grey haired dames
can't make it

in the games of love?
Johnny says
eyeing a grey

haired dame
across the coffee shop cafe
who's to say

she's had her day
who's to say
she can't make it

along side
the younger p*****s?
the grey haired dame

sips her latte
sits with legs crossed
one hand holding

the mug
the other hand
resting on her hip

Johnny gazes lazily
takes her in
each aspect of her

that he can
her hair drawn
back into a bun

the fingers s
lightly wrinkled
and ringed

her dress pale blue
enfolds her
with a held in touch

who's to say
she couldn't make
the grade in bed

as an older lover
with subtlety
of touch and feel

who's to say
she cannot
make it still?

the dame gazes
with her grey blue eyes
their eyes meet

then she looks away
but still he can
imagine it all

and make his day.
