A State Of Confusion

what is what? and who's really whom?

everything seems so distant now

I've lost too many times

to give up war and settle peace

might belittle all my crimes

 

I surrendered my heart away

and watched it fade blue

thunder ruining the rain

taking from us, you

 

I made mistakes, I admit

but I can't be perfect you see

this world is full of potential, skill

but I'm just little old me

 

I gave in to lust, to emotions wild

and betrayed not you but me

to look back now is impossible

tranquil yet feral beliefs

 

Please take me back to that innocence

that time when I was once free

nobody to care about at all

nothing deep to feel

 

that once I loved, I love no long'r

is it okay to admit?

not deterred till now for some reason

it is okay to submit?

 

I ponder, I wonder and I sleep a deep sleep

no longer, the thunder, no more tears to weep...
