Lady Love

Lady Love

A Poem by Thomas-Lowe
"

The tragic tale of Fate, Choice, and Love.

"

Never was there told a more bitter tale

than that of Lady Love.

Doomed that she would ne'er prevail,

struck down by Fate above.

She waited once for him to give,

to let her have her way.

But he with she could no longer live,

and he slowly slipped away.

For Lord Fate had greater reason

to stay around than Love.

Why, it was he who chose the seasons

and gave the flight to doves.

But Fate was wise, a saw that she

would surely die without him.

So he crafted Choice to meet her need,

and left her to her whim.

But Choice grew tired of pleasing Love,

and sought another mate.

And when it came to push and shove,

Choice murdered great Lord Fate.

And the cheated Love,

now filled with longing,

like Fate's lost dove,

seeks the place of her belonging.

But Love can never find her peace

in the fickle hearts of man.

Her heart requires greater lease

than mortal lives have ran.

This is why our love ends,

when all is said and done.

Lady Love always pretends,

but when close she always runs.
