Human

Human

A Poem by TheAdventOf

I'll lie down and pray for sunlight
To break an eternity of black clouds
Covering the bright skies
Burying angels in their celestial prisons
And holding my eyes from the stars

We're just atoms
On the eve of every new day
But sometimes...

I just can't feel it

Like the world kept spinning
And hid a broken Eden is everyone's heart
That we're all too afraid to give up
To be able to build somewhere
Where the serpents tongue bleeds silently
Through sewn shut lips

I'll pray for sunlight
To break the nine chain links
That hold us apart from each other

We won't be ashamed of being naked
Anymore.

I love these lines. You have a very deep feeling writing style. Nice work.

Very nice, you have a wonderful display of metaphor in this poem. Great flow and rhythm to this one. I especially enjoyed the line "Where the serpents tongue bleeds silently" wonderful imagery. Well done.
