Too late Rostam

Too late Rostam

A Poem by Rubein Geterminah
"

War

"
Too late Rostam
Champion 'f the Persian; you 've fought
Invincible battles & duels, and thought
The best- but what fame
Will a hero have to slain
His own seed by a trick
Of one who came from his ribs?
O what glory
Will it worth in story
O what lesson
Will it compose for reason
Here your only ram
Lies, while your kinsmen celebrate
And your King waits to elevate
And you retreating Rostam
Too late to cure the harm.
