Let me hold your shaking hands.

Let me hold your shaking hands.

A Poem by Destiny Case
"

A rough piece that I wrote a long time ago for my "Penned For a Friend" series.

"

Come here.
Let me hold your shaking hands.
Let me warm them with my own.
I don’t care where they've been
or have wandered,
for they are still yours,
and you are still important.

Let me shelter your wounded spirit
from these violent storms.
I will break my heart for your pieces
and give my hopes to rescue yours.
For we've all had our bodies battered
by these rocky shores.
and we've all braced for our defeat,
but you are not finished yet.
and you will not drown
from the sorrow in your lungs.

Come with me.
We can gaze at the constellations
written in the color of each other’s eyes.
We can read the stories engraved in patterns
of our skin,
and when we find the answer
that allows us to be whole again,
we will recover.
For you are not alone.

I will not leave you to the demons in your sleep,
to this world’s wolves.
No, I will mend the pieces to your kaleidoscope heart,
but you have to let me.
You have to let me.
