Voltaic Reaction

Written quickly in response to the image of lightning over water.

In an act of vigor,
natural and pulsed,
it strikes from the clouds;
the greyest and fluxed.
If you could see it captured,
how it ripples on the water
if it were us in your wake,
below your might, merely mortar.
If you could see the trembles,
the reflection of your action
we become as we are said
in a pathetic voltaic reaction.

Great imagery here. We had a storm earlier this week. I don't mind the roll and explosive thunder, but the lightning terrifies me and had me running away to a dark place. My bedroom has a window in the roof, so I can see the stars at night. That is wonderful, but so scary when lightning strikes. Fork lightning is a wonder to watch from a very safe place. I would like to have seen that over water from a distance.

i often wonder what the lightning thinks as it strikes...i personify storms...
they hit so hard...do they mean to cause so much damage...because there is also beauty in them as well...
this is really good imagery.
