Too Thoughtful to Be Careless and Young

Too Thoughtful to Be Careless and Young

A Poem by TheLastEclipse

To be the one who lacked everything you loved,

I dreaded to wait and see the beauty of the flying dove.

Although, I tried to hopelessly scream your name.

I couldn't make a sound through the endless sharp pain.

Where do we stand now? I feel so far from you.

We're at the edge now, and this is what I'll do.

I grip your hand so ever firmly in mine,

And love, I won't let go until the end of time.

And forevermore...

Forevermore

I want your eyes of the ocean to stare into mine.

I want this kiss to finally draw the line.

A smile awaits at the end of all this hate.

But my fear is that the smile will be all too late.

  I've tried to tell you,

I am ready.

When you're shaking and about to fall,

I'll hold you steady.

I'll grab your wrist once more...

Watch us both wash up on the shore...

Honey, I know you're oh so very clever.

You are wiring the trap and I am the lever.

We pull and pull until we have depleted strength.

Continue striking me, there is no shame when I cease to blink.

Eyes shut eternally,

I hope you'll never see.

This tragedy.

Blue eyes of the sea

Sink into flames eternally;

It's over for me!

Why can't you just accept defeat?

The fact that I am leaving tonight,

It's not like you ever cared.

  All we did was fight.

In this bulk of aluminum, fiberglass, and steel,

My life went out with no warning besides the Banshee's squeel!
