H2O Explained

H2O Explained

A Poem by Mark Daniels

I love it when it rains, i guess it is one of the things that keeps me sane.
Some people hate it, despise it, but some us try to rhyme rain with
unimaginable beauty. Rain is more pure than the whitest snow,
it's like the air in the fact that it is beautiful no matter how many people try to bring it down.
Children like to dance in it, while others use it as an excuse to stay in.
I sit in the downpour people call sadness because to me,
it's redemption in the form of trillions of pieces of dihydrogen monoxide.
I let it wash away the pain of life in a world of anger.
just like i let music wash away the stress.
I watch her now and then, and wish she was mine, but she says
I'll find someone someday, and part of me accepts it, even if I want to
sit there and regret it because if i'm going to find someone later,
why can't I make you feel special for now? because rain doesn't last.
It's like a metaphor for life in a poem about death.
Some people hate rain, and get mad when it comes,
But I welcome it with arms that also love the sun,
it is a battlefield, a church, a cemetery in one.
I love the rain, because it proves that everyone falls sometimes.
I'm happy with the rain wetting my hair because rain IS poetic,
a quality of which I like to think i share.

This has great phrasing in it, and is a beautiful description of rain. Not only the description but the feeling rain invokes.
