A Poem by TheLonelyWriter

There are certain things in life we can't control. Those things might just be our worst enemies.

It takes this stone-hard grip on you,
But it doesn't let you die.
Rather, it lets your suffer in agony,
Making you go through life barely getting by.

It starts off slow, just a touch at first.
It makes you think it is holding you, not killing.
It can be mistaken for happiness and love.
It brings a sense of control that is filling.

It drags you don deep below the surface before you can run away
It ruins your life, and makes you hate yourself.
It ruins friendships and grades, but makes you think you're okay.
It is your biggest enemy, and your best friend.

Let me know what you think this is about! It's short and sweet, but too much depth would take away freedom of perception! Any feedback is appreciated, thank you for reading!
