Time To Say Goodbye

Time To Say Goodbye

A Story by Mr. D

We had a good run, my friend. You served me well ever since I started to work. We put out a lot of stuff over the years and even though I misplaced the one close to you, I know I’ll find them again eventually. Or I’ll find a new friend or friends to replace you.

It was not an easy decision to let you go, but sacrifices have to be made in the name of progress. It is with a heavy heart that I understand you will be taken away to somewhere I know not where. But in the time of coronavirus, and not knowing where people have been, I must take my leave of you.

It was nothing personal. Just me trying to avoid being sick. I donated you to someone else for just one day, and even though they returned you, I do not know what you may have gone through or what you had when I received your friendship back again.

But I will miss you. I miss you even now, and when I go into work today, I will remember that you are not there anymore. Rest well wherever they take you, my friend, and know that I’m sorry it had to come to this. But as I said before sometimes you have to make sacrifices. No one will know it, but you’re about the only friend I had at work. No one can miss you but me.

Goodbye, and enjoy the rest you have now earned for yourself. I want you to know that I will look back on you with fond memories. And I want you to know. Thanks for everything...you were a good glove.
