The Politician

This is how I see "some" politicians..

I am the reason for your pain.
Your loss is my gain.
I live to kill, I live to slay.
I bathe in blood all day.

I crave for money, I crave for women, 
I enslave those hopeless men.
In my greed you all are slaughtered.
Because of me, your dreams are shattered.

I divide you in the name of region, 
I divide you in the name of caste.
I accuse you all of treason.

And wonder how long you'll last.

In silence you live, in silence you die.
But you never ask me "why"? .
Its your fear that makes me strong.
It helps me do what's wrong.

As long as you stay docile.
Without fear I shall live.
And hope I never see a day.
On which, for my sins, I pay.

'The Politician ' is my name.
I understand neither love nor shame

I love it love it love it! Just few hours ago a new controversy has sprung up among the Kerala politicians regarding sexual abuse. And this is not even the first in the last few months. The amount a sexual abuse and corruption makes us sick. They are supposed to stand up for us and work for us, and they do nothing, and on top of that they take advantage of women and the poor. So sad, but it is happening even as I type this, and it would continue to happen

The rhymes are in perfect accordance. Your words are simple and sharp. Beautiful creation and it speaks for a cause.

Yes, I am :)... Howdy neighbor :P.. And yes, this poem was written as a response to certain actions and statements by certain politicians. I wanted to add a line or two, you know asking where the money I pay as taxes was going.. They didn't rhyme well so I had to leave them out :P.

I'm not big into politics so this didn't hold my attention as much as your other poems have. It's weird that I'm not into politics, though, because I love shows such as West Wing, and House of Cards. My point being, this poem reminded me very much of the show House of Cards and made me want to hop on Netflix to watch a few episodes, haha. Still a wonderful piece, even if I didn't enjoy it as much as others :)

lol...I was seeing if you were paying attention plus there was implied consent that happened subconsciously so therefore since it resided there between the id, the superego and ego the fallacy in the accusation of plagiarism is not valid, has no basis therefore is being dismissed....see i told you I was from the land of politicians and slanted truths....be blessed :.)

How very true. Across nations even. Politicians are all the same everywhere. They make promises before being elected or appointed and then once they're first in the ladder of politics, who cares about their promises...when they can bathe in money and women (or men haha) and power. At the same time though, I feel that they're also manipulated by their so called "guiding voices," that they do not have full control over anything...they're just a political face to look at, but everything else is done for them. They're puppets on strings. And their master is the Devil.

I agree. The average wealth of a congressman and senator is 40 million. Rich men won't increase their taxes and the poor will carry the burden. Take a lot of money to run for office. Impossible for a average Joe to run for any kind of office. Your words direct and honest. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

In USA. Rich folks pay small part of taxes. Won't change. Can't elect a poor man with concern to office. And you are welcome. Last year. Obama cancelled the pay raise for the congress and the senate. Some radio show did a pretend event to raise money for the leaders. I learn my Senator Levin was worth 80 million dollars. A career politician.
