Words to the Deities

Words to the Deities

A Poem by Seamstress

If only the Fates weren’t so cruel

If only Aine wasn’t so fiery

Do you think Aengus could turn us to swans

So we can fly away together, happily?

If only Mighty Creiddylad was stronger

If only we had our own Brugh

Our love is already Eadon himself

Inspiring words of beauty in life.

Flidais let us borrow your chariot,

Your sweet deer know the way.

To the land of Tir Na N’og

Where age has no matter.

Wachilt use your feminine wiles

To make your dearest help me out.

Llyr part your waters

Bringing our worlds together.

Ogma you gifted us these words

Tis your talent we shout our love through.

If only the ancients could help

If only they could help us out.

The love wouldn’t be saddening

We wouldn’t have to deny ourselves

If only the decades and the distance weren’t there

We could live our own “Happily Ever After”

As I was reading this I began to realize I knew of these! The land of Tir Na N’og indeed! Oh how I miss the stories of old that me mum used to tell. I also agree with your last lines ... *sighs*
