Scraps & Leftovers

Scraps & Leftovers

A Poem by Molly
"

I found these in my purse the other day; random little poems I had written a while ago, probably at work over the summer. Rather than title each one of them and give them an undeserved importance, I thought I'd just put them all together here. Enjoy.

"

I am restless,

impatient, finger-tapping,

with crackling nerves

and skin too tight,

stuck here in a summer limbo;

I am waiting waiting waiting

to feel you again.

I am a mistress of time,

allowing minutes to drop away

in a deluge of apathy,

sifting through countless seconds

of tedium and misanthropy,

searching for the two seconds

it takes for our lips to meet

and time to stop.

I am nothing but a paper shell,

bursting at the seams with the light you inspire.

Each 'I love you' I utter

leaves my lips with a thousand

other unspoken syllables,

words of love echoing outward

from my insides.

About
I write to write. Not for you. Not even for me sometimes. Inspiration just hits me, and I'll write it down. Sometimes what I write concerns the present, people I know or things I've seen. And other t.. more..
