I used to think it was a matter of ,"Are you willing to die for me?"

Too many people think that way now a days.

I really wish I could say, "Will you live for me?"

I'll live for you

Rather, I'll thrive for you

I'll change my views and emotions

because you have given me a reason to live

Why would somebody be so willing to die to save the other?

True dedication would be finding the alternative,

where both could live

anharmed, unscathed, in love

How nice it is to see a like opinion in writing. I should wonder if the...phenomenon?...you describe here is actually new? Something tells me it is. Yet, oddly enough, I have always been inclined to think: "things" are just generally worse in the modern age. Dunknow.
This line is breathtakingly powerful to me - "Will you live for me?" It reflects on what I consider a truth about love--it is selfless, beyond merely considerate.
I completely agree with the idea of the last stanza.
I thank you for..."awakening" me. :)

I agree with D. Snyder. We see things like, "I would kill myself to save you." type of love in a lot of writings. It's nice to see it in an optimistic way :)
