Gemini Sits in Moon

Gemini Sits in Moon

A Poem by The Things She Noted

My Gemini sits in moon
Scorpio is always rising
Still have more days to ruin
Which ones I’m still deciding
I hope to see you soon
My tulips slowly dying
My father just flew in
My mother always lying
Hum my solemn tune
There’s knots to be untying
Grapefruit from the spoon
Beneath the sun I’m frying
Oh my, it’s almost noon
Sundress slowly drying
The greenest algae strewn
Through the river crying
Boys that made me swoon
Now no longer eyeing
I told you back in June
I promise that I’m trying

This is so very well-crafted, it wasn’t until the second reading that I realized it was an ababab… rhyme pattern throughout. It doesn’t seem forced, and all the lines flow easily with the meter while clearly expressing the emotional content. It’s always a pleasure to read your work.
