Sight

Sight

A Poem by Lawrence Brown

Sight...
I believed I was strong, but learned I was really weak. Full of hate, drugs and greed. Chasing wants not what I really need.

Seeing dreams in people's eyes, while judging lives while passing by. Who am I to decode a person's life, while not having a handle on mine.

Wisdom is worthless inside a fool. And that fool gains nothing acting cool.

I'm blind,
I see
No I'm blind.
Yes I see.
Shattered thoughts, emotions, lives and words. Shattered hopes, shattered minds, shattered feelings, shattered worlds.

I'm blind to others passions only caring of my own.
I'm blind to others feelings, only wanting to know my own.

No I see that homeless man, homeless child, and under dressed girl.
I see the money I want and forget my fortunes while not seeing others hurts.

I'm blind, give me your sight. Give me your thoughts, worries and plights.

Give me a chance to gain your pain. Give me a chance to grow again.

Excellent writing. It reminds me of rap music.
