A Heart of Songs (My Farewell)

A Heart of Songs (My Farewell)

A Poem by iNSOMniAC
"

I hope this is a good way to say goodbye. I may have never known you, but I wanted to pay my respects. Rest forever in peace.

"

There once was a man who turned the tables

On a life that he’d won from the start,

And his inspiration taught a young boy

To play the chords of his bat-lightning heart

Strumming the sizzling summer heat

And tapping the wood of the willow,

The instrument sang of a soft melody

That’s touch was as soft as a pillow

The skies fell upon the horizon,

And darkened as it grew near ---

But the boy still played a luxurious song

For all of the world to hear

He wrestled the notes with his gentle fingers;

A shade of snow painted onto his skin

So that the song played like a falling dream

Around a story that was becoming too thin

The mourners were but pure, white roses

That threw themselves into the wind;

But the heart of songs still played strong,

And this was simply not the end

A stolen bud, an unpaid departure

Had anonymously bid a farewell,

For the boy’s euphonious heart was certainly not

The last place where his love would dwell

He stumbled upon each of his roses and planted a sweet kiss,

And the dew of the morning sparkled brightly with great bliss

On each and every white rose’s

Brilliant new pair of lips

There once was a man who turned the tables

On a life that he’d won from the start,

And his inspiration taught a young boy

To play the chords of his bat-lightning heart

Thank you! c:
Wow, I liked this piece. It really gives an ode to those in the world who are unknown yet have done so much and mean something to someone, even in their obscurity. The person reached out and touched people's lives and inspired the heart of songs to continue to play. He made a silent farewell, not wishing to hurt them with his departure, but he stopped for each one. I think this was beautiful, and like I said,m illustrates those who are true heroes and have done so much for the world throughout their lives but have or are obscured. This did have a deep meaning, and I liked it.
