North pole dreams

North pole dreams

A Poem by Alexa Aiden

I am resigning from your harbour

From LA to a place of white velvet

Trudging along with my feet, my backpack, and I

And the sky that covers us

I dream away all this noise

And make peace with the crickets crow

The stars persuade me to take their hand

So I'll take their hand

And skate amongst the clouds

I'll never be a prisoner to traffic lights

And let them tell me when to go

I'll find my own way

And map my own self home

As I go farther, I start to feel the breeze

It tickles me playfully

Settling in to a colder sky

I shut my eyes

And fall into it's middle

My fingers are numb from an indulgence of white

I'll go inside

And stay here for a while

Has the feel of dreaming of getting away from one pain and unfortunately into another and cabin fever makes you feel homesick for the city.
I like the way it rhymes.

Beautiful and insightful feelings that are common to us all.
