Thoughts I Bought at a Yardsale

Thoughts I Bought at a Yardsale

A Poem by ThoughtsIBought
"

This is a poem about life experiences and trivial pursuit knowledge.

"

I am the junk poet

and these are my thoughts I bought at a yardsale.

You see I'm a self diagnosed hoarder of stories.

A collector of Snapple fact tangents

Stacked up in cabinets and dresser drawers

Now I'm sure there's no need to explore in detail

Obscure bits and baubles not sold at retail.

But I just wouldn't be me if I did not know the canon height

of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Gotta go fast
as I pinball between points of interest

Treating ADHD like a competitive sport.
Each adventure a new piece duct taped to the frame work.

To the patchwork of me.
Yes there’s a lot.
A kaleidoscope in the mind's eye full of spiraling impractical fractals.
But I like the organized mess end result

A basement full of half finished projects.
A kitchen full of half baked ideas.
An attic full of lofty ambitions

and a life full of stories.

I can sure see why Julie McC read-requested me on your poem. This is snappy, contagious, original thinking & well-expressed in words. Being a rather plodding thinker myself, I need a bunch of firecrackers under my a*s to get myself into the mode where I can think outside the dots like this & that's why I'm so envious of such popping writing. I like it where unexpected bursts of abstract symbolism are strung together with a cohesive storyline that's easy to understand & follow & relate to. Some who write wildly like this will not include a thread to follow, which I feel is necessary for full enjoyment. Entire V1 is over-the-top excellent and this line rocks: "Treating ADHD like a competitive sport." I'll have to remember to read more of you soon! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
