I LOOK TO WRITE AGAIN

I LOOK TO WRITE AGAIN

A Poem by DIVYA
"

For you... 😽

"

I look to write again

The pen shrieks nevermore

What used to be a pleasure

Has now become a chore

A muse that used to zoom

Full throttle through the door

Roams stuporous in her quest

For brand new metaphors

I look to write again

The scribbler in me snores

That wordster in me sleeps

Like a pallid, bloodless w***e

No brainstorms can be brewed

In a pot riddled to the core

No clouds can lead to rain

So digressed from the shore

Yet I look to write again

Lost feelings to restore

I write with all my rust

So you may love me more

quite like this piece...and relate to content...i am looking to write some decent poems again...been feeling like i have been writing crap....
how do you get rust when you have been writing all along....that's me.
i like the idea that you can't brew brainstorms....so true...
they just boil over on their own.

and i do love you more Divya!!! :)))))))) rhyme and rhythm are lilting ... easy flow! i like the wry sense of humor and these lines jump out for me:
"That wordster in me sleeps
Like a pallid, bloodless w***e" and
"I write with all my rust
So you may love me more"
when we are uninspired ... write about it :)))))))))))) of course! or take a class .. or spontaneous word associations ;} really like your poem ... speaks to all i am sure

you are welcome Divya .. and right back at ya!
The most poetic expression of “writer’s block” I’ve read. Your words, the structure too, speak to us and for us.

I experienced the same months ago, and I just listened to different music, studied different art, and read great poems like this one, and my muse emerged again.

You too. Take care
If this isn't a mantra for all writers, I don't know what is. My latest hiatus was two years - TWO YEARS! I honestly felt like a piece of me was missing. In my case though work stress and life in general just zapped every bit of creativity and inspiration out of me. It always feels good to return to writing. When I'm not writing, something is wrong. I think it's true that there are just times when we don't have anything to say; and in those moments, I find it's best to just be quiet for a while. Forcing yourself to write rarely makes a good poem. Overall, I can relate to every word of this piece. Well done.

You’ve done it.
You’ve written what you could not.
It flows with rhyme and meter,
That only a talented poet has got.

The sleeping writer has emerged from her chrysalis and still with the talent she has previously displayed. No rust here DIVYA I assure you. Great to see you writing again. Sometimes we just run out of inspiration and things to say. It usually comes back.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say you read my mind or talked to me before posting. I've been empty for a awhile and wonder if I'll ever get back to writing new poems again.

You've always written fine to me. This is further proof.
