LET GO!

LET GO!

A Poem by DIVYA
"

No clutching pain!

"

LET GO!

Let go of a dream adrift, unborn

On the fraying hem of a dying morn

As a smudge of breath, on a frozen pane

It forms and ebbs, yet all in vain

Let go, if a kiss, of love is devoid

A broken word, so null and void

Lost as the wail of a lark in the wind

Flushed of it’s fervour, feigned or thinned

Let go of the scarlet rose of thorns

That left your lapel ripped and torn

And a moon forever shrouded in mist

At every pained and lovelorn tryst

Let go, if you wince at every burn

From a flaming tongue that twists and turns

As a blazing trail that sears it’s path

And burns all bridges in its wrath

Let go, if it’s killing you deep inside

From a paean lulled into silence cried

Or a symphony in bittersweet discord

That weeps for the final aching chord

Let go, if the yearning lies in waste

Unfurl your wings, make off with haste

Where the sun may stroke a fettered plume

And a bruised and battered self may bloom

i especially like the second stanza....excellent word choices there.
i relate to this piece, and i am sure many of us can. I was in some relationships that ended long before they ended...and that just causes more bitter feelings to arise.
And what there was left of love gets drained to nothing. A song should know when it is over...more words and verses just make it become stale. We need to know when to Let Go.

Sagely words penned in descriptive metaphor and expressive imagery, yep, no point continuing to flog a dead horse, if ain't it gonna work, move on and buy a new one or else borrow a tractor!

Beautifully written my friend 😻

Thank you always, my friend 😻
So much wisdom in your lines DIVYA. So easy to say, let go to all that is causing pain, but in reality, it is so very difficult to do. Yet, it works, it truly does. It takes immense courage to make that decision. So many of us cling to stuff because we fear change. That includes relationships too. So poetically expressed, your voice was strong here and your artwork, stunning. Written in rhyme and meter, this is a classy piece of poetry.

I think when it comes to the point of dying inside you have to leave. Someone has to make the decision to go. Tomorrow the sun will shine and life will go on, memories remind us in an instant never to return.

Powerful journey in your words dear friend. Love can be a hard teacher and we must go forward. I liked the flow of thoughts leading to the hopeful ending. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Thank you very much for appreciating, dear friend Coyote.
Let go of the untrue or unseemly--and, therefore, all pain that would be endured to attain it.
You said this, and more, D.
High-level work!

Yes indeed. No point in holding on to pain. Thank you very much Jimmy.
One of the best poems I've read this week & I've read a hundred at least. This is graceful & sparkling in rhyme & rhythm, while also making a demand of the "other person" in a very gentle way. Many times, when someone tells us what to do, concerning romance, it's not a good feeling. We usually already know what we need to do, especially if it means dumping something we care about becuz the cost is too high. That's why your poem is so amazingly graceful & gentle about making such a point, which can be a prickly point to try to make to a person in the throes of this s**t. I have always walked away rather than stew in a situation that just feels yukky on & on! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Wow im in awe of this set of lines... so sweet and true and don't think I could ever write of this the way you did don't think I will even try after reading this. What a heart you have and I'm quite sure you tried for loves sake and I'm even more sure when you came to this understanding the ground shook in the countenance of you:( I however predict you will find someone worthy of it someday in the universe:) Dear Divvy!

You're welcome.
so relatable Divya! letting go can be the most difficult yet important thing a person must do to heal and thrive ... whether a dream, a lost love, an existing break away ... they can all devastate lives ... love your positive wisdom in closing ... we do well to take it to heart ... can be tough .. but let go we must
