Wanting Wanderlust

Wanting Wanderlust

A Poem by C Peril
"

A poem which, hopefully, will resonate with anyone wanting something more than an unremarkable existence.

"
Each day, sort of waiting for something to happen
Never did possess a very strong sense of carpe diem
So I sit, like no god damn good poet before me,
who would get up, go out and grab life by the balls,
If needs be

I endeavor to adventure; I long to roam,
through fields, streets, cities, all very alien to me
I want to take in every experience
and savour my surroundings... but I don't want
enough

And so I need my wants to be something more,
a call to arms, galvanizing me, propelling me
into this future of Latin suns and Nordic moons
Bars in Brasil, learning languages in Tokyo,
Moscow

Can i not be so responsible?
Can I cut the chord, so to speak?
And just live recklessly

If not for a little while
