Form

Form

A Poem by C Peril
"

To read or not to read? That's the question. Answer: read.

"
The expectation is a requisite for disappointment
If I ever snatch you from the world of forms
Shall I not see you in bone, muscle, sinew?
You won't laugh at all my jokes; you will not be
captivated by my insights Hell I doubt you'll
listen to my favourite musicians and you won't
have read Murakami, Cohen, Neruda

You won't last more than 5 minutes outside of
my mind You'll sing the wrong note, whistle the
wrong tune and I will exile you - Napoleon
at the Elba - my heart is vindictive and lonely,
an animal too good to feast on the flesh of
anything impure; the toxic allure of shackling
someone to the ambitions of the most austere
reality

The expectation...
is a requisite for disappointment
