Zoe

Zoe

A Poem by C Peril

Zoe's landscape eyes are green of Earth
or ocean blue Intense the smile of frost
and dew The nightmare dreams behind
Zoe's eyes (who sees the ruin which
never subsides) are cast into her slender
frame; the wicked witch and I'm to blame
For Zoe's loss and Zoe's pain

Zoe's world is black as night and writ
with sins that Zoe likes The smokes
and tears that stay inside The bodies
that she says I hide Cowering under
velvet sheets she reads of Rome and
Ancient Greece

The barbarism at her feet

For Zoe has a pagan flare which you
will see in the lion's lair Bark and
growl and hiss and spit If it's in
fashion Zoe's hit, with drama and
a rapture too Owned by Zoe, not
by you

An empire is not enough for Zoe's
appetite, Zoe's lust What she has
taken and cast aside, the story
ends in pale light

Nietzsche's little pretty flower
An Ubermensch would she devour

I withdraw with all my power
