Dead in a Shed

Dead in a Shed

A Poem by C Peril

"The world is not so bad",
he said through the palpitations
Clutching at his chest,
some hesitation

I hear he had an open casket,
not so the mourners would
blow a gasket; he was hoping
that they'd prod him

Just to make sure he was
really dead, before they
stuck him in Earth's muddy
shed

"The world's not so bad,
but don't be so sad...
I've just gone to catch up
on some well deserved sleep
For that I'm glad"

Can't help but wonder why he left from the shed and admire the open casket rationale!

I was almost afraid to read it, thinking I'd learn about some poor starved dog. Well, I guess I did.

Good poem.
