Held Hands

Held Hands

A Poem by C Peril

I can't be the answer, nor can I be the hope
But I could be the conversation
that holds you on the rope
Just little words, one step forward,
two for safety

I could be the voice in the lonely cabin,
soft whispers of rain and drizzle
and crackling fire

desire
