A praise to the sun, and rediscovered happiness.

Hello sunshine

It has been a while. 

How are things with you again?

I've quite forgotten you know

I missed you old friend

the clouds covered your smile for some time

I wished the dark would rend

fears obscured, but it did not for mine

It's like that in the north sometimes,

you know how it is.

But look, you're back!

I saw you shining again,

just like before!

You hadn't shriveled up over this long winter.

I suppose you didn't the other times either.

Oh there's so much I want to catch up on!

How was it like

to run about without ice beneath my feet?

So free no cares

I can finally throw off all those cloaks again!

Ah how I forgot,

what it was like

without all that weight

With you out there again in the sky

My doors are open to the world again

Who cares if the elements hurt a bit

It doesn't matter,

because the Sun is up there

shining light again through the clear.

I had to read this when I saw the title. Such a great poem for spring, and a great metaphor.

Thank you for the kind review. Springtime is without a doubt one of my favorite times of year, and I'm glad I managed to capture that in this poem for all others to feel as well.

This is a beautiful subject to write upon. I liked the way you have expressed the way like you are really talking to the sun. The tone of this poem was really good. This poem if considered in a broader sense gives hope, inspiration and encouragement to the readers. A shining sun is a metaphor for happiness and that is how I am feeling after reading this. ☺
