The Dark Shroud Of Life

The Dark Shroud Of Life

A Poem by Crifa

The fog closes in throughout your mind,

All happiness and pleasure consumed in the mist,

Darkness settles in the light your trying to find,

Only the feeling of depression exists.

Where there was once a stride there is now a crawl,

Where there was once a smile there is now despair,

People try to help, they try to understand,

But you are alone, in a corner you stare.

Suddenly nothing has meaning,

You look forward to nothing at all,

Because since the death of your lover,

You are surrounded by four walls.

Strugging day by day,

Shadowed by the memory of your wife,

With no help coming your way,

You decide to end your life.

In my opinion it's better than either of mine. Big fan or this. Especially like the last stanza, and the middle stanza is superb. And the first stanza is just an amazing intro. But other than those 3 things...it's just okay
